Xiaoxi Meng

Xiaoxi Meng is currently a post-doc in Laura Shannon Lab at the University of Minnesota. She earned her Ph.D. in biochemistry and molecular biology from Mississippi State University studied protein post-translational modifications, gene function, and QTL mapping in rice. She joined the Shannon lab after completing a post-doc at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with Prof. James Schnable, where she studied the research aspects on machine learning classification and comparative genomics of grasses species including maize, sorghum, and seteria. In Shannon lab, Xiaoxi is studying the history and diversity among tetraploid potato populations; genetic diversity and deleterious alleles in dihploid potatoes; and GWAS on morphological traits.
