Megan is a neophyte to the field of plant breeding, having attained her undergraduate degree in geology with a focus on hardrock geoscience. After graduating from Carleton College, Megan explored her interest in sustainable agriculture by spending a season working on an organic farm. She is excited to be working as the data manager in the Shannon potato breeding, genetics, and genomics lab. Her current research interest is fostering crop diversity and sustainable agriculture for global food security.
I am currently the data manager for the Shannon Lab potato breeding program. My undergraduate research experience included projects in metamorphic petrology and marine geomicrobiology.
I spent two years coaching my former high school's science olympiad team in geoscience events.
