Resilient landscapes, educational outreach, plant ecology and physiology

Biography

I am an educator promoting urban tree diversity. With a wonderful team, I help develop more resilient landscapes in the Twin Cities. My prior employment includes working as a paramedic, university researcher, and an extension gardener. For fun, I enjoy paddling, road biking, board games, and spending time with friends and family.

Research

Currently, I develop educational resources about trees from published research. Previously at the University of Washington, I studied the influence of bacteria on plant productivity, physiology, and resilience to water stress and nutrient deficiency. As a research gardener at the University of Wisconsin - Extension, I assisted with studies to sustainably improve weed control in managed landscapes.

Outreach

Our outreach engages underserved communities and aids workforce development to improve urban landscape resilience through tree diversification. I support a planting-education curriculum as as workshop leader, coordinator, and liason with community partners.
