Biography

I am a PhD candidate in the Plant and Microbial Biology program. My research focuses on studying the effects of polyploidy on the evolution of plant genomes. I use potato and its wild relatives to study how polyploidy has shaped phenotypic plasticity, cultivation, and dispersal ranges. I also work to study how polyploidy affects the genome and genes underlying quantitative traits, and how those in turn have affected the breeding of tetraploid potato.
