Biography
I am interested in justice-driven natural science within the food system, specifically the ways farmers can use organic carbon and nitrogen sources to create sustainable, resilient food production systems. My research investigates cycling of soil nitrogen derived from different rotations of summer cover crops with the goal of optimizing trade-offs between nitrogen provision and pollinator benefits. I hope to co-create knowledge with farmers such that they have the tools they need to liberate themselves and their communities from systemic inequities and dependencies in the food system.
