I’ve always been interested in doing research on some level to help alleviate hunger around the world. I am currently working towards my M.S. in Applied Plant Science, co-advised by Dr. Eric Watkins and Dr. Changbin Chen. I am utilizing aneuploid breeding techniques to increase seed production in the low-input turfgrass Prairie Junegrass. After my Masters, I plan on continuing my education and working towards a PhD in Applied Plant Science with an emphasis on plant breeding and genetics. I would like to lead my own research team in improving some of the most important crops around the world like soybeans, wheat, barley or potatoes.
